Storm-tossed, the nest lays -
Mud, woven grass, blue shell -
Such beauty, such loss

A pink nose nudges,
A small gray paw gently prods -
A new day begins

April snow

I am not displeased
by April snow  - spring birds greet
its beauty with song.

Last year's clutter gone,
A new day dusted with snow -
Today's gifts await
